Starting today, you can improve the quality of your thinking, emotions and physical energy to develop your spiritual intelligence and change the horizon of possibilities for your personal achievements and outcomes across all areas of your life.
Goal-setting, the typical start to a new fitness routine is barely scratching the surface of your potential long-term success and effectiveness. Traditional ways of determining motivation by achieving weight loss, smaller waist measurements or greater bulk in muscles have not only been proven impossible to maintain in the long-run, but are completely irrelevant to the human brain, the science of energy and how humans achieve sustainable healthy behavioural change. At the beginning of the year, we touched upon the notions of human needs and ways to form long-lasting healthy habits. In this newsletter, we shine the spotlight on Energy and how to tap into your hidden superpower house.
While robots and artificial intelligence have greatly improved modern life, they have yet to dictate human energetic existence. With the power of belief, humans have dug deep and broken world-records to achieve the impossible. In 1954, at the age of 25, Roger Bannister broke the 4-minute mile. In 2009, Usain Bolt became the fastest man in the world, with a sprint time of 9.58 seconds in 100m. Had Bannister not achieved his world record in 1954, Bolt would never have been able to break his.
Though they bear undeniable influence, the advancement of humanity takes more than courage and confidence. Humans need to believe they can shape the development of the species; that they make it possible for future generations to strive. Recognizing the power of the human spirit is at the seat of our collective development and connects humans to a higher energy; something we are just at the brink of comprehending.
Paradoxically, neuroscience and neurophysiology are only now catching up with ancient teachings. Call it energy, spirituality or drive, what is at the core of our being greatly impacts our body, perceptions and outcomes; no longer are these teachings confined to students of Buddhism. New fields such as neuro-coaching and positive impact are shedding light on the mind-body-emotional-spiritual connection in ways never seen before.
In a recent webinar titled The Science of Gratitude, Rania Laing, a management consultant, brain-based coach and Founder and CEO of Your Neuro Coach, explained how our emotions emit electromagnetic energy of varying wavelengths that directly impact our well-being. The heart is the engine and source of these waves and from here the frequencies transmit thoughts and feelings into our perception that then drive our actions and reactions.
Putting aside the school physics lesson, the takeaways and value for fitness are clear. High energy is related to high frequency and comes from the positive energy of love and gratitude, while low energy, which can be detrimental to our bodies, stems from low frequencies and is negative by nature.
The direct link between quality of thoughts and energy frequency plays an important role in how we set and conduct ourselves with regards to improving our fitness. Kick-starting your body with artificial substances, be them legal or not, can only hinder your long-term achievements by flooding your system with toxicity.
Exercise, however, has been proven to stimulate the brain’s natural energising, high-frequency biochemicals. Endorphins, dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin are, to name but a few, the perfect chemicals for building-up your system’s natural energy circuit board. Your brain automatically provides the perfect dosage for your body and the healthiest balance for your autonomic nervous system.

Are you ready to press reset?
Here are five ways through which you can immediately rewire your brain circuit board and start tapping into the science of energy and neuro coaching:
- Define your vision based on inner benefits, not aesthetics. You can use vision-boarding, journaling, scrapbooking or simply day-dreaming. Take time to focus inwards, on how healthy it feels rather than how healthy it looks. The more vividly you imagine this, the easier it will be to create a healthier, fitter lifestyle. Imagine the positive impact on your family and loved ones, and introduce high energy activities into your immediate family schedule in a way that is playful and fun. It can be a weekend disco in the lounge with the kids or a quick morning yoga energiser to start the day.
- Tune into your body and feel your energy needs. This takes mindful practice but transfers exercise habits from a will power effort to an energetic feel-good activity. Mindfulness can be developed in any way and at any time. It requires focusing on how you feel, how your body feels, what kind of thoughts you have and where you hold your negative emotions such as stress and tension. Once recognised, it becomes very easy to select an activity that will help move that stuck energy. Rather than forcing your body through a high-strength gym work-out, perhaps a cool swim will help or an evening walk with a friend.
- Find your initial framework and evolve organically. Whether you download a two-month plan or decide to hire a personal trainer, start somewhere and allow yourself to rediscover your new relationship to high energy wavelengths. The fitness industry has recently explored such routines and samples are available online for every type of workout. Experiment with different activities, different schools, brands and trainers. Even if you never do the same routine twice, you will improve your energy and never get bored. Alternatively, you may reignite a childhood love for ballet or find joy in tai chi.
- Practice gratitude. Gratitude induces high frequency wavelengths and also sends streams of positive thoughts through your brain. With practice you build up more positive neural networks, which means you see more of the sunny side of life, including appreciating the good things about yourself more. You can introduce family activities such as gratitude jars by each naming three good things you are grateful for, sharing positive vibes with your nearest and dearest.
- Grow your personal network of positive people. As you engage with new activities, make that little extra effort to connect to new people around you. You match the wavelengths of others so set your intentions to have a positive impact on others, establish authentic bonds and enjoy new opportunities that come your way from expanding socially to new connections and collaborations.
High performance is based on high frequency energy. By applying this latest knowledge of science to raise your fitness aspirations, you will do far more for you than becoming slimmer, stronger or better looking. Starting today, you can improve the quality of your thinking, emotions and physical energy to develop your spiritual intelligence and change the horizon of possibilities for your personal achievements and outcomes across all areas of your life.
